About the Client
Our client is a large NSW Government department focused on delivering strategic, community-impacting outcomes. With a centralised procurement team and a strong pipeline of work, they’re looking to bring on a Procurement Manager to support several high-priority sourcing projects.
The Role
We are seeking a Procurement Manager to join the team on an initial 6-month contract. You’ll play a key role in partnering with stakeholders to plan, source, and manage procurement activity across multiple categories - with a strong focus on value, compliance, and commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies that align with organisational goals and deliver value-for-money outcomes
- Analyse business needs, risks, and market conditions to inform sourcing and category planning
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities, including tendering, evaluation, negotiation, and supplier selection
- Build strong supplier relationships and manage contract performance and compliance
- Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders on procurement best practices and governance
- Experience in strategic sourcing and category management, ideally within the public sector
- Confident managing complex sourcing events independently
- Familiar with NSW Government procurement frameworks (e.g., SCM005, SCM0020)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Able to navigate a fast-paced, policy-driven environment
